I've been with First American for over 10 years. They, and all home warranty companies, are the pits to deal with. Get used to it. They will do whatever they can to keep from paying out a claim regardless of what your coverage is. The problem is that you just can't afford to be without the coverage. You just might luck out and save a bunch of money over having to repair a system or... Read more

This company does not honor what you pay for, beware!! I have now had to hire a plumber and an AC Contractor to fix what 7 of their contractors couldnt. I tried to work with the company and they did keep sending contractors out but they contractors wouldnt know what to do and leave me hanging. 3 weeks I had to live with my water off and turn it on when someone wanted to shower or use the... Worst home warranty of all, period. If you are thinking to buy from this company, read all these reviews and believe it. If you already had this company as your warranty company, change it as soon as possible. You are depending on parachute that WILL NOT open when needs. In trying to resolve my claim I have been on hold several times for more than 30 minutes. When I finally DID get a human, I was told she would send me an e-mail regarding my claim which she did. I acquired this policy by purchasing a home. It is the worst policy I've ever had. I had a plumbing leak, and they said that if they come out and the technician finds mold, they are supposed to stop and leave (but they still want their $60 service call fee). I just purchased this house on 7/7, and it's pretty obvious that the leak had been there, but the prior owner masked it, to avoid fixing it.... Read more

The only reason I purchased this warranty was for my air conditioning unit. I was told several times that it was covered...that is until it went out!!!
