Called for service on dishwasher on 4/7/21 as of 4/15/21, No service!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Placed a call to Am. Home Warranty on 4/7/21 for service on dishwasher not draining. Assigned a vendor, Tinker Appliance Repair. Vendor never called, after two days I called him. He was very nonchalant. He said they were very busy. He gave me a date Tue. (13th); no show, no call. Received call from AM Home Warranty this morning (4/15/21) at 8:40 AM saying to expect a call from Tinker No call.

They never intended to give me any money for the stove that they couldn’t fix. They have been giving me the run around for two months

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

First American are scammers. They agreed to give me the cash for my range over a month ago as the part to fix the range was $1,500.

We agreed on a payout to me over a month ago i the amount of $605 and after calling them for the check, over a month later they tell me they can only give me $524 as the amount they promised was a mistake. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for over fifteen minutes so I hung up. The try to wear you down. During this process I had called them approximately eight or nine times.

After calling back several more times they now tell me the $526 amount has (for the second time) now been denied. After being on hold for a long time I was so irate I knew yet again they were lying. I was very upset. Juan was the rep I spoke with.

He hung up on me because I was so upset. What a bunch of scammers

We were advised that if we carried premium coverage that dampers would be covered if they went out on our system....fast forward....dampers went out the policy does not state that dampers are not covered...page 9 of their policy states that dampers are not covered where asbestos is present...we have NO ASBESTOS and they have decline our claim......it is there in black and white!! This is not the first time we have found it in the policy and they have declined! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! Do not buy a policy with them!

Terrible Experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I never believed I could experience such terrible and unprofessional service from a (so called) reputable company. The entire time, I was dismissed with fake, polite phone presence, but lack of honest assistance. They sent technicians to my home who reportedly lied about what my appliance needs were. They also kept me on hold for 30 minutes or more at a time. This finally resulted in denial of a cash-out payment for a new oil heater which worked prior to my calling them, but began showing signs of malfunctioning (which was my initial reason for the call). There were lies told by this company and the technicians the entire time. Extremely disappointed. I will not refer this company or the other companies associated with them to anyone in search for a positive, honest and helpful experience.

No resolution to service request.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We placed a request on December 5, 2020 for our furnace, which was told by the gas company it had gas leaks and cannot be used. We open the ticket with FAHW and a contractor came over twice, inspected the furnace and told us to wait to hear back from FAHW for a replacement. No one contacted us back for about 4 weeks, then we called and found out the ticket had been closed with no resolution. We were told, FAHW attempted many times to contact the contractor but had no response. Long story short; FAHW continues to gave us the run around and making excuses to why the ticket have yet resolved. It was us making the follow-up calls to FAHW, otherwise no one contacted us for updates even when they said they would. I am on the phone with customer service right now and after 110 minutes on the phone, I am still not able to speak with upper management. I requested to speak with a supervisor and still waiting. It has been 7 weeks since the service ticket has opened, I want to know how much longer it will take for FAHW to resolve and to do right by its customers. I am very frustrated by this level of professionalism. We have needs during the winter season and we are getting nowhere.

Terrible service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Reported problem with HVAC end of December, heater was not working. After week finally had contractor get in touch via text. Few days later show up and diagnose problem as a bad switch. Week later replace switch and tell me the control panel is out. Another week plus goes by and they are scheduled to replace control panel and they say we received the wrong panel and will have to reschedule again. Meanwhile First American is no help especially after hours of being on hold. Their records do not reflect my problems on the claim I opened. The reality is my system is very old and should be replaced and they are doing everything in their power to wear me out and not live up to the contract.

Poor Service

Furnace went out. Put in a request through the website. They did not efficiently follow up with the contractor. Then they said they would put in an emergency request. Still no response. Called the contractor they mention the poor communication procedure with First America and they will not be in my area for 5 days. You would think First America would verify the availability of the contractor. Glad I'm moving my warranty to AHS. Also the worst automated phone tree ever created. Only by chance can you navigate your way to talk to a "real" person.

I have had Service Request #31012**** outstanding for sometime and no resolution. I was offered a replacement that did not meet the language of the proposed replacement including features and size of built in. I was told another model would be made available shortly, that was weeks ago and no contact. I need this microwave replaced as soon as possible. I appreciate your assistance in the matter. Misrepresented Their Offer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was told that if I renewed my contract with First American Home warranty I would get a $100 discount. Instead of paying $630 for a yearly renewal it would only cost me $530.

I received a confirmation stating that I had agreed to the cost of $630. I called back to customer service and was told not worry about it and that when my credit card would get charged it would only a charge for $530. The following month my credit card was charged $630. I had called back and was told that I would get a $100 credit back on my credit card in a few days.

I never did. I called back and told First American that I wanted to cancel the policy. They told me that I would have to emailed : Cancellationsupport@***n along with the cancellation contract #and that I would receive a confirmation from them shortly. I sent the email and a few days later I received a notice stating that the email delivery had failed.

I then cancelled the payment on my credit card.

It seems to me I keep getting the mislead and the run around by incompetent help. Very disappointed with is company.

FIRST AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY: DATE OF SERVICE 6/23/20, TODAYS DATE 8/03/20 , Microwave: Built In, Washer, Refrigerator: Freestanding FIRST AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY SENT a company repairman, from a company I will refuse to use in the future. I would NEVER recommend this repair company to anyone. WHY? 6/23/20- That was the service date. On that date here is what happened: I had reported three items to First American Home Warranty abbreviated (famw): 1) Washer, 2) Microwave, & 3) refrigerator water filter. 1)The WASH MACHINE abbreviated (wm): we had our (wm) for 15+ years. Worked perfect until a week prior to the reporting to First American Home Warranty (fahw). The issue was the wash machine would spin the clothes but they were still soaking wet. Which never happen prior. We had to run the spin cycle 2, 3, sometimes 4 times to get the excess water out before putting them in the dryer. THE REPAIRMAN: He looked at it, ran the spin cycle, saw the clothes were still soaked after the 1st spin. He then says NOTHING is WRONG with (wm). His solution was for us to continue repeating the spin cycle until the water was spun out clothes. I tried to explain to him that this is not right & until a week BEFORE HIS VISIT, one spin cycle did the job (as the WM manual sd). Well he just continued to say he sees nothing wrong. After attempts to continue convincing him this is not right, I gave up. THE FINAL RESULT: We were forced to BUY a NEW WASH MACHINE. So bought new Spent $500+ out of my pocket. THE NEW machine spun the clothes on one spin cycle (not 2,3,4). 2)MICROWAVE abbreviate (m): Reported to (fahw): When the (m) was opened it started running & would not stop until door closed. When the door was closed you could use the (M) as the controls still worked. THE same REPAIRMAN : Diagnosed a switch or switches that need to be replaced. He said 7-10 days for parts to come in. Said in meantime we could use the (m). Well, when he left, the (m) DID NOT WORK at all so we were completely unable to use it until parts arrived. CURRENT STATUS: As of today (8/3/20) the microwave still sits unrepaired . Why ??? I say to myself as it been now 40 days!!! Since the 6/23/20 Service date, I called company responsible for getting the parts 4 times, always with a promise I would get a call back. No call back ever So the next call I refused to get off the phone till I get an answer. Their response, part due 7/24/20. And they would call to set an appt. Well as of 8/3/20, no repair, no call from them. Which leads me to believe the communication with its customers assigned thru (fahw) are poor. Certainly my case. Cant they update me on part status w/o me having to continue calling them? SO AGAIN I HADTO BUY A small microwave to fill the excess void of time. Living 40 days w/o a microwave, especially in the heat of a summer Texas, is not realistic. 3)REFRIGERATOR water filter abbreviate (rwf): This was reported to (fahw) on their web page. The same Repairman didnt show it on his worksheet. So showed him (fahw) web page and he saw it. He replies thats not covered & no warranty covers that. I said no, not the case, as I had AMERICAN HOME SHIELD the prior year before (fahw). And AHS DID cover it. AND AHS had replaced in my home. Again he wouldnt listen, nor verify with (fahw). I sent an email (fahw) to advise whether it is, or isnt covered. Ive not received an answer from (fahw). 4)***They show on their our website (fahw) that this entire claim is closed and resolved. This is Not correct. 5)SUMMARY: The repair to the *** Microwave remains unresolved after 40 DAYS. I had to BUY a counter top Microwave out of my pocket due to the lack of urgency to get parts, & lack of communication from the repair company. NO ONE in Texas can wait in excess of 40 days in the middle of summer w/o a Microwave ** WASH MACHINE I had to buy a new one out of my pocket since the repairman wouldnt, couldnt repair it. **Refrigerator (fahw) never replied if it was covered, & the repairman didnt check with you either. 6)So. NOTHING on this work order was completed. And I am out close to $600 + the $75 service fee. For what? Incompetence, aggravation, No communication, spent my money $600.. And a repair company who seems to treat (fahw) clients without care to resolve actual issues or communicate, with absolutely absurd wait times. If I had called a company without going thru (FAHW), I know I would not be out all this money and the issues would have been fixed promptly. But thats what happens with these Home Warranty Companies-You just never know what your going to get. 7)Unfortunately I have no positive points to make. Even though I tried to find someI DO NOT write reviews as such EVER. This is the first that I would rate everything about this experience as close to a 0as possible.

Terrible customer service and repair practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Submitted a claim to have my garbage disposal replaced because of a Barrington another home failure, and after multiple attempts to contact first american, and after multiple claims filed, a plumber finally came out and inspected the disposal. He determined that the unit was bad, and needed to be replaced. Now, almost a month has passed, and I had to replace the unit myself. The smell and slow draining sink was too much. First Americans excuse, the unit exceeded their replacement value. This company is a total ripoff. If I could give them zero stars on everything, I would. Waiting a month for a simple repair, is utterly ridiculous.
