We lost A.C. at a rental unit.
Tenant is 8-1/2 months pregnant w an 11 month old infant in the home. It's summer & its considered a "medical emergency" to keep the home below 90 degrees inside. We call FAHW and explain. They say they would send someone out.
They didn't. We call again, they send another person out. Diagnose problem, doesn't fix it. Three more times, same thing.
FAHW is impossible to reach, takes forever to obtain parts. Their communication is poor at best. Weeks go by, we are calling daily. They finally authorize $150 to buy a portable AC, very little help.
Finally they tell us they will replace the unit but we have to pay $1300 which is practically what we would pay if we didn't have insurance. Still after 4 weeks, no A.C. FAHW doesn't want to accept responsibility for their failure to hire decent contractors, communicate properly and follow through. Hurricane Irma came and went and we recovered from that, but we are still waiting for FAHW to live up to their contractual obligation to "promptly" repair or replace the air conditioning.
We are being sued by tenant.
Go with another company. Choice Home Warranty is better than First American Home Warranty.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $4000.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
